John Wordlaw, who rejoined the Office of Systems Integration (OSI) on a full-time basis in September to serve as the chief deputy director, will move on to be the new Chief Administrative Officer for the Judicial Council of California effective Dec. 1. Wordlaw will oversee the council’s operations for information technology, budget services, branch accounting, procurement, human resources and administrative support.

The Office of Systems Integration is looking for a new chief deputy director for the third time in 2016.

“I look forward to putting my experience in budget and information technology to use in furthering the Judicial Council’s goals of access and fairness,” said Mr. Wordlaw. “And I appreciate the opportunity to serve the public under the umbrella of the judicial branch,” Wordlaw said in a statement.

The Office of Systems is recruiting to fill its vacancy. Applicants must file by Nov. 28.

Wordlaw was a deputy director at OSI from 2010-11 before being appointed deputy director of fiscal services for the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation by the Brown administration in 2011.

Wordlaw was a principal program budget analyst at the California Department of Finance from 2007 to 2010, after serving as a data processing manager from 2001 to 2007, according to the governor's office. Wordlaw was a legislative analyst for the California State Employment Development Department from 1991 to 2001.

At OSI, Wordlaw succeeded Amy Tong, who left as chief deputy director earlier this year when she was appointed California state CIO.

Established in 2005, OSI manages many of California's biggest IT systems in health and human services. John Boule remains the director of OSI.

Matt Williams was Managing Editor of Techwire from June 2014 through May 2017.
